The BIM Manager is the most powerful member of the BIM & More product family and far ahead of the times. Even if it is basically doing just one task: Exporting building construction solutions from ExtendedPIM into BIM property files. It is all surprisingly easy to use with the best flexibility and usability. All building construction systems and build-ups that were previously entered and configured can be exported into BIM property files. Either with no changes or, if needed, they can be further modified for BIM use. For this the BIM Manager surface offers various options such as editing the variety of layer and product thicknesses, modifying still images, contact or web links, showing or hiding interface elements of the BIM objects and so on. If you need further manageable content or interface elements in your BIM objects it will be done during project customization.
BIM setup - Before you export
After importing, configuring and setting up building construction solutions using ExtendedPIM, you can open the solutions in the integrated BIM Manager. This surface offers various options to optimize the solution for BIM use. You can change the name of the solution, creator, date, version, added image files, contact data links, web links or activate the Cobie based property set etc. After modifying these settings you can switch on and off various elements in the BIM object surface in ArchiCAD® or Revit®. Show or hide options for planners according to timber constructions, windows and doors, building physics etc. The BIM object will appear according to your settings.
BIM object export - Let’s get ready to rumble
The export process is quick and easy: Just click on the bottom of the BIM Manager surface on the button for ArchiCAD® or Revit®. The BIM object property file will be locally stored. According to a previous set naming convention the file can be identified.
BIM object Masterfiles - The way to ArchiCAD® planners
Along with the BIM Manager the BIM object Masterfiles for ArchiCAD® are shipped. Previously customized for your needs and matches it 100% to the tailored BIM Manager surface and its options. Each BIM object Masterfile for ArchiCAD® matches with one single BIM property file, exported from the BIM Manager. They build together your individual BIM object.
BIM Importer - The way to Revit® planners
For Revit® use we ship the BIM Importer. A Revit® add-on which enables the direct import of the BIM Manager’s BIM property files. The package is complete: BIM property file and BIM Importer.
Publishing BIM objects - Planning Portal or other databases
Ideally you upload the created BIM objects for ArchiCAD@ and Revit® in ExtendedPIM and publish them on your Planning Portal along with all other information for your building construction solutions. If you offer a set of BIM objects as your branded Managed BIM Library you gather the highest attraction from your customers - and you break new ground in a very intelligent way - while you enable architects and planners to work with your building construction solutions.
